Some of you have noticed differences in terms of utilising the function room over the past couple of weeks. Rocks have been signing in smaller group bookings to dine in the club when The Rocks is fully booked. The Rocks are not hiring the entire room and are not to prevent members to also utilise the room. MYC receives a fee for doing so.
The Rocks are setting up the room for overflow and members are welcome to dine at these tables. Personally the room has been looking better having it set up ready for dining. It is expected that the room will be only used for such purposes at peak times and the Rocks will continue to book the room for larger functions as they have previously. Since Christmas the room has been used for 10 bookings and I hope did not cause any disruptions to our members.
The aim is in line with the clubs objective of new memberships and hence more revenue.
I hope this is just one of the new initiatives that will make the Club and The Rocks work closer together and hopefully see prospective new members be introduced to the club. I expect a few other new initiatives to be trialled in 2017 for the benefit of members.
The Harcourts Sundeck is for members to use and if a function is on they will have to use the rear stairs as to not to disturb the function.
The club will continue to manage and monitor to ensure members retain all priviledges.
