Sail Peninsula 2023 which is being held over the weekend of the 24th to 26th February 2023 at Safety Beach Sailing Club and Martha Cove Marina. 
As well as three days of exciting racing on the pristine waters of the Mornington Peninsula, we have some  fantastic entertainment lined up along with fabulous dining options from Snooks Catering and his team. 
We are able to offer berthing to all our visiting yachts thanks to Martha Cove Marina

MYC was well represented at the Australian Sailing - Victoria Awards last Friday night.

Mornington Yacht Club had Jack Eickmeyer win Youth Sailor of the Year, Lachie Weber was 1st in Vic Sailing Cup in Laser Radials, Olivia Cameron & Lily Fogarty 1st in 420s. James Jackson & Lachie Weber were co-captains in Peninsula Grammar's 1st trophy’s for School States. Sophie Jackson, Jack, Lachie, James Jackson, Lily & Matilda Richardson, there as our 6 Victorian Institute of Sport sailors were presented to the audience.

Our Youth Sailors were inspired from their chat to Glenn Ashby. Congrats to Albert Park for Club of Year in their 150th year, which MYC was a finalist and noted as a ‘club to watch’ on the night. Congratulations to Grant Chipperfield nominated Male Sailor Finalist of the year. Congratulations former MYC CEO Rod Austin awarded Sports Professional of the year. Team MYC’s wonderful achievements reflect individual pursuits of excellence, but more than that a fabulous club culture with members and volunteers incredibly supportive of our pursuit of enjoyment in our sport for life.

Last Fridays award presentations to our youth sailors marked a special point in each of their respective journeys to achieve success in Australian Sailing. While at the same time completing serious stages of their education these young people are also beginning to wet their appetite for international competition with an eye towards representing Australia in future Olympic sailing events.

The commitment to hard work combined with the obvious comradie amongst this cohort is terrific to witness and inspiring to the next crop of young sailors coming through. Credit is also due to their coaches, youth volunteers and parents supporting these efforts. 

The MYC General Committee and Foundation working with Training and Development are anxious to support the inclusiveness and growth of youth sailing at Mornington through improved facilities and equipment. Prudent investment  in ribs, training craft and coaching staff will continue. Longer term we will have more to say about upgrading our facilities on Mothers Beach.
