Hire a dinghy
Mornington Yacht Club has six (6) Pacer dinghies available for hire so you can get out on the water and enjoy sailing at your own pace. Whether you’re brushing up on skills, introducing friends to sailing, or just looking for a fun few hours on the bay, our Pacers are ready for you.

Hire Rates
- Members: $35 per boat (4 hours)
- Non-members: $70 per boat + Sail Pass (4 hours)
- Payment is required before use.
Booking Information - Bookings essential through the MYC Office.
- Book at least 24 hours prior for weekdays.
- For weekend hires, bookings must be made by 4pm Friday.
- Boats are available during club hours only, and cannot be used during training or racing programs.
Conditions of HireTo ensure safe and enjoyable sailing for everyone, the following rules apply:- Eligibility: Sailors must be 16 years or older.
- Novice sailors: May hire only if accompanied by an instructor or with approval from the Head Instructor/Coach.
- Weather conditions: Pacers will not be permitted if the wind is forecast above 15 knots, unless specifically approved by the Head Instructor/Coach.
- Sign in/out: All hirers must complete the sign on/off form in the sail storage area.
- Pre-sail check-in: Report to the MYC Office, a Flag Officer, or the Head Instructor/Coach prior to launching.
- Launching: Pacers are to be launched and retrieved from the beach only – no exceptions.
- Sails: Only use the sails in the blue bags that match the allocated boat number.
- Pack up: Follow the pack-up procedure displayed at the Pacer storage area.
- Damage: Any damage must be reported immediately. Hirers are responsible for repair costs, up to the $400 insurance excess.
