MYC Code of Conduct Policy
Mornington Yacht Club (MYC) is one of the premier yacht clubs in Victoria and as such enjoys a reputation as an inclusive sailing and recreation club. Membership includes rights and obligations and is a privilege which carries with it a responsibility to uphold our reputation at every opportunity, and not to engage in conduct that brings the Club and other members into disrepute or is contrary to the Constitution and By-Laws of MYC.
There are many users of the MYC facility and Members, Guests, and Visitors of MYC have a duty to ensure that they cause no adverse impact on any of these stakeholders because of their actions at MYC or in the wider community.
The Club will not tolerate any form of bullying, harassment, abusive behaviour towards members, use of illegal/performance enhancing drugs, or drunken conduct.
Breach of this code of conduct by any Member will be investigated and an appropriate course of action will be taken by the Governance Sub-Committee, in accordance with clause 13 of the Constitution, Discipline of Members.
Any Guest, Visitor or Stakeholder breaching this code will be asked to leave the premises.
Any Guest, Visitor or Stakeholder who persistently breaches this code of conduct will be asked to stay away indefinitely.
Boat names that are considered by the General Committee to be in breach of clause 12 of the Code of Conduct Policy shall be required to change.
