TrySail
Sailing is a challenging and rewarding sport. Wind and water are constantly changing as your young sailor adapts tactics, strategy, rules, resilience, self-confidence and teamwork. Sailing is physically and mentally demanding, promoting a healthy body and mind, critical thinking and decision making that will help your child succeed throughout life. Sailing creates a safe environment where the consequences are real, and where friendships, respect and getting better at something is an investment in the future. MYC coaches are amongst the very best and will help your young sailor acquire a level of knowledge and experience from which sailors begin to enjoy challenges and become passionate about them.
Sailing at MYC is about creating a safe environment for children to explore and challenge themselves,
a place for families to contribute and shape their community.

Our aim: To encourage active learning for young sailors to develop confidence and competence as they develop into resilient and independent youth on a lifelong journey of Family, Friendship & Sailing.
How we deliver our program: Through a structured learning methodology, the MYC Junior and Youth Sailing Program focuses on learning and development within a broad curriculum that teaches more than just skills and techniques. Our sailors progress through a 6 level level pathway at their own rate, and our team of coaches and instructors are also developed along with sailors.
At MYC, we encourage families to be involved in club life and assist in their child's sailing journey, as none of this is possible without the effort and commitment of sailors, coaches, volunteers and families.
Starting your journey: MYC offers 3 weeks of “TrySail” each month for 10 children aged 8-10 yrs on Sunday’s to help your family decide whether sailing is suited. The 3 weeks includes basic sailing lessons, games and fun on the water, access to a dinghy and a life jacket. With our commitment to quality and limits to resources there are limited placements. We encourage you to book early.
Book in for TrySail:
