The Couta Boat Association in association with SSCBC are hosting part of their 2017 State Championships at Mornington. Expect a wonderful fleet of these classic fishing boats in Mornington Harbour. It great news for the local Couta boat fleet and the community to see history and such craftsmanship at Mornington. MYC is seeking on and off water volunteers to assist on Saturday 11 March and Sunday 12 March. If you can please rsvp. It was Glorious and so was the Quantum sails sponsored Rum won by those lucky place getters.

Sad to see it end, but proud to see MYC 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the last event. So many sailors may not have stayed in the sport if not for the offering of LIDGETT Cup. Well Over a hundred MYC young sailors have attended over the years and we have supported the event with Volunteers throughout. All through out 2017 , about twice a month you will see the squad training at Mornington. 36 of the best Optimist sailors in Australia gathered in Adelaide on the weekend for a training camp.
The AOST team included FOUR of our talented Tam MYC Juniors. They were Lachie Weber, Zach Hayes, Sophie McKenzie and James Jackson. One of the activities was team MYC taking on the Rope Course, a flying sabot and even lots of sailing! The coaches included Olympians and guest speakers from the AIS.
