The Mornington YC Sailing Instructions for the upcoming season have been released and may be found on our website under the menu structure >>Sailing >>Race Documents >>Sailing Instructions or by clicking here.

In pursuit of administering better and safer sailing at MYC, the Sailing and Race Committees will refine these documents as required from time to time - and this year is no exception.

These modifications are often relatively minor, however, this year there are several significant changes as well. Of particular note (but by no means limited to) are the revised courses for your division, and the mandatory requirement for all boats in all divisions to SIGN OFF.

As a gentle reminder, every skipper has a responsibility to familiarize themselves with the current versions of the RRS, Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions.

​BERRY, Inez Mary (nee Reader)Late of Sandgate, formerly of Edenhope, Victoria. Passed away peacefully at Regis Sandgate on 24th August, 2017. Aged 90 Years Beloved Wife of John, Mother and Mother-in-law of Maryanne and Ronald, Peter and Andrea, Michael, Damien and Katie. Grandmother of Kate, Meagan, Lauren, Isabella, Thomas and William. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend Inez's Funeral at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sandgate at 11.30 a. m. on Tuesday, 29th August, 2017, followed by Interment at Nudgee Cemetery.

The Board of the Mornington Yacht Club Foundation is pleased to present our first Annual Report  for the period ended 30 June 2017.  You will see from the Report that we have raised $43,667 towards our objectives.  This in itself is a substantial sum and we are appreciative of your generosity in assisting us to finance projects that will assist the Club and its members.
As you are aware our major initiative is for the acquisition of 6 Pacer dinghies that will form the background of our junior sail training program, which will attract new members and will generate income for the Club.  We continue to work towards this end and have raised further funds since the date of this report.  However more is needed and we would appreciate any further support to enable us to achieve this milestone as soon as we can.
The Board recently met and agreed to contribute the amount of $2,000 towards the costs of  a number of junior members who plan to compete in the Australian 420 Championships in Perth in December. This commitment is consistent with the second project established by the Foundation and will assist our more experienced sailors fulfill their ambitions to compete at a high level.

The club is really excited by the prospect that a comprehensive book on the history of Mornington Yacht Club is about to be published. Life member Stuart Gooley has been leading a dedicated team  behind the scenes on what is a HUGE task.
The editing process is now complete and the book is now being typeset by Centreforce Printers in Mornington and that Stuart is aiming to have the completed book available by our 73rd Opening day.
It is  wonderful historical document for the whole Mornington community. Anyone that has an interest in sailing at Mornington should have a copy at home and more details on how to order will be provided soon..

Brooke and The Hutchison Family are representing Team MYC, Australia and the Victorian Opti Team in China at the Qingdao Sail week 2017. Thanks for sending the pictures through Hutch and the 1.5 lt beers are impressive.
