Setup the MYC My Maintenance Request Form on Your Phone
MYC implemented My Maintenance last season to help better manage and record maintenance related issues to the club’s assets and infrastructure.  My Maintenance is a web based system that manages Requests, Schedules and To Dos and whilst building maintenance history over time.
There is now a mobile friendly version of the MYC Request Form and we would like club members to bookmark this on their phones/devices and use the form to log maintenance related issues that need to be brought to the attention of the club.

The following is a short guide for adding the MYC Request Form to the Home Screen on iPhone. (other makes of phone will have a similar process)

Following submission of your request an email will be sent to the office informing them of your request.  The request will be reviewed and managed by the MYC staff and volunteers and appropriate tasks and activities assigned and managed through My Maintenance.
We ask that you use the MYC My Maintenance Request Form to record all maintenance related issues, that way the issue will be recorded and managed within the system.

The de-normalisation of smoking in public is ramping up another gear with new government legislation that kicked in from 1 August this year. The bad news for smokers is it essentially bans smoking in those outdoor areas where food is served. Our deck areas , both front and back,  are No Smoking Zones.

What also prompted this message was the large number of butts found dropped/thrown from the Back deck and on  the boats (private property below) recently..  Littering not only must stop but is  of a huge safety and insurance concern.

Smokers need to leave the MYC boundaries to smoke. ie.  outside the gates water front and outside the delivery entrance (car park side).

Yalari is a not-for-profit organisation that offers quality, secondary education scholarships at leading Australian boarding schools for Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities.

The students have many chances for life-changing experiences, through their education and boarding school experiences, travel and camps during school holidays, and involvement in Yalari fundraising activities. Through these experiences, their confidence and abilities bloom.

MYC has been a supporter of Yalari for several years.

The Melbourne dinner is on again in August and is a terrific night which will include an entertainment package, inspiring speeches from some of the children, live and silent auctions and the opportunity to meet the team from Yalari - as well as some of the current students and Alumni.

Good afternoon everyone and thank you for those who attended and put in their apologies, the AGM went very well where all motions were passed.

A very big thank you to Mal Hart of Hart Marine for sponsoring the AGM and Networking function, we are highly appreciative of his generous support for this event. These types of events demonstrate to industry and community leaders we , the MPMA, are a credible and thoughtful body that wants to sensibly grow the local economy and employment.

We thank Wayne Hann from Martha Cove for his generous offer to sponsor the next networking function and we will take up his offer in November or thereabouts. Watch this space for further news.

Our past Chaiperson, Stefan Borzecki, will attend the Council meeting next Tuesday with myself, where Council will hopefully support the Boat Ramp Feasibility Study & Options Report's Top 3 Priorities. I will keep you posted on this matter.

I would like to extend a special thank you to Stefan for his stewardship of the MPMA over the past 3-4 years, he has been a fabulous contributor and great strategist for keeping the MPMA focused on practical, real projects and goals. Stefan will step back, slightly, by serving on the Executive Board with myself, Irene Ho, Tim Phillips, Mal Hart, Chirs Procter and Ted Banks.

Again thank you Stefan we are deeply grateful for your support and input over these years, enjoy a slightly quieter and more relaxed life

MYC members Andy Whitbourne and 'one arm' Scott White have commenced work in the Harbour View Room. We hope that the floor coverings, painting, members kitchen  and electrical work are all completed by the Italian Night 11 August.

Both the MYC Finance Committee and Marketing Committee are seeking a couple of members to join these two important sub committees.

The Marketing Committee  is chaired by Sarah Sharman and is responsible for Membership, Sponsorship and Community Engagement. They are seeking two  members interested to join that have had a marketing career background. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 4.30pm at the club.

The Finance Committee is chaired by the Clubs Treasurer Jon Phillips and is responsible to assist, advise and make recommendations to the Board on the overall organisation of the Club’s financial and business affairs, including auditing. They are seeking two new member that have a financial or accounting background. Meetings are  held  the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm.

Congratulations to MYC members, Paul Heyes, Cam McKenzie and Stu Schafer on TP52 M3 after winning Div 1 IRC Sydney Southport Race.  A great race in very hot fleet with 7 TP52's in DIv.

Other MYC members GT onboard Wild Oats line honors winner and Jeremy Rae on Ichi Ban. M3 clubhouse leaders IRC overall, however that may change with small boats coming home fast today with Southerly change!

On the weekend of August 12-13 Ross from Peninsula Boat Training is running a 2 day Australian Sailing national Powerboat course at MYC. For those without a licence, pass the test and take the certificate gained at the course down to Vic Roads for your licence. This course involves both theory and practical.

This is part of a sponsorship to the club so the plan is for kids to do it free (need to be at least 12) as it is a requirement for their Assistant Instructors qualification. It would be great if any adult driving a club rib also had the certificate - MYC members adult price $280! (usual price $360).  A course is obviously more involved than just a licence.

If the number of kids registering is more than the sponsorship we will ask the adults to pay the difference.
