It was fantastic to see so many members get into the spirit of Opening Day. While it was a wise decision to abandon the sail past race we still had plenty of fun back on the deck.
Led by Jo McKenzie, I want to sincerely thank all our helpers:
Gail Brandhoff - for the Platters
BBQ set up youth: Will White, Milli Grover, Oscar Lee, Tom Mackenzie, Liam Ryan & Maddy English.
BBQ Chefs: Ben Jones, Peter Scott, Simon Brown, Amy Brown & Keryn Scott,
Sunday pack up: Mel Hitchen-Haw (jelly maker too) Nathan Edwards, Cam McKenzie & Ben Jones,
The TAG team who set up and dismantled the Mooring Room and retrieved our banner early on Sunday when the high winds threatened to flatten our perimeter fence.
Full marks to Sarah, Tayla and Michelle on organising a memorable day enjoyed by many.
The greatest endorsement of the success of the event came from the Commodores of other Clubs who commented how friendly and welcoming our Club is and that they plan to copy our format.
Sophie's Jackson's Opening Speech was inspirational to our many young aspiring sailors. CLICK HERE TO READ A FULL TRANSCRIPT>.
