An increase in bank merchant fees across MYC’s bank accounts has prompted the club to introduce a surcharge on all credit card transactions.
The fee will be 1.5% on all Mastercard and VISA card purchases (a reminder that AMEX is not accepted). Though bank fees are increasing for debit card transactions (cheque and savings accounts purchases) we will not be passing those fees onto members.
We understand an increase in fees is never palatable. With this in mind we will ensure you are aware where this fee applies, for example on our invoices. With this information at hand you will have the choice of whether to pay via credit card (which attracts the 1.5% fee) or debit card or online, which does not attract a surcharge.
