Back up day is: Sunday 15/09/19
As we learnt on the last craning in day, many hands make light work.
So we would like as many owners, crew and volunteers to turn up early and participate until the job is done.
Barbeque breakfast will be provided.
As usual safety is paramount.
Would expect that everyone is vigilant and is on the lookout for every club members safety.
Everyone is to stay clear of the operating crane.
Once the slings on each boat being lifted has tension on them, the Buchannan crane team will control the lift and carry to the water.
Whilst the boat is in slings, Buchannan's insurance covers the boat.
This is why it is important that club members do not interfere with the crane operations.
In the absence of the Commodore and Rear Commodore and the Club Captain driving the bob cat, overall supervision of the day will be carried out By Trevor Neate.
Trevor will have Jon Storm, Graeme Vertigan, Chris Jackson in key positions ( and Laurie in his machine).
This team will need volunteers and assistants, jobs will be allocated on the day.
If you can help and If you need a job on the day approach one of these ( Laurie will need an assistant to attach chains and draw bars).
All help very gratefully accepted.
We will also need Barbeque volunteers, 2 duck drivers and a tractor driver
If anyone would like to volunteer for a position beforehand please let the office know.
.
We intend to start preparation at 7.30am and expect as many members as possible turn up to assist for this MYC team effort.
Launch order will be posted on the downstairs office window.
We would ask that owners and crew come back into the yard after launching their boats and assist with other boats.
If all goes well and we finish early it would be a good opportunity, while lots of volunteers are on hand, to dismantle cradles and reinstate the front fence( removed for crane operations).
The road trailers for Misbehavin, Clockwise and Morning Light, and fixed cradles will need to be removed from the yard by Sunday night.
With all the great MYC team pulling together, launching should go as smoothly as retrieval.
Rear Commodore,
Bill Bennett
