There are over 34 small outboards currently stored in the engine shed. Most have not been used for over two years given the tender service.
We have approached some owners of small four stroke motors with a view of making these available to all keel boat owners to use with the pooled tenders when required on non race days. These outboards will now be serviced and maintained by the Clubs outboard mechanic and the TAG team. The expense will be covered in the annual tender use fee.
This will leave some 26 outboards sitting idly in the shed. We can use the space more efficiently and earn income.
With the upcoming Garage Sale if you would be prepared to donate your outboard to be sold to make a contribution to our objective of raising sufficient funds to replace a tractor this would be greatly appreciated.
Please could consider this over the next few days and advise the office if you would like us to organize the sale of your outboard.
Pending wide acceptance of this new operating procedure In due course we will be asking for all surplus outboards to be removed from the shed so that we can use the space for alternative purposes.
