Just a quick note to say that the Enterprize will be visiting Mornington this weekend (7-8 Nov) and be conducting one hour sails during the day and a one and a half hour sail Saturday evening. We will also be sailing back to Docklands on Sunday leaving at 4 pm. I have attached a copy of our planned visits to Mornington over the next few months for you information and that of your Members. It is the start line set at the North West Corner of the Mt Martha Mussel Farm (just a little further than E buoy) On Water Start Course Racing will as per normal Saturday racing. Racing commences at 1100 hours with the aim for Safety Beach SC boats to have time and join a social drink afterwards at the club. MYC member Graeme Taylor is currently sitting 7th overall in a fleet of 43 at the 2015 Etchells Worlds in Hong Kong.
GT with his crew of Grant Simmer and Steve Jarvin nabbed a bullet today in Race 5 in a red hot fleet from all around the world. The leader board is pretty tight with plenty of room to move up! Well done boys!... ....from all at MYC A strong fleet of MYC Members are sailing what could be the biggest Inland Regatta for many many years.
Over 300 people are camping at the club and those in tents have braved howling winds and rain at night. Fortunately the days have been beautiful and the sailing exciting with most of the Victoria's best off the beach sailors in attendance including past Olympic Champions Sarah Blanck and Krystal Weir. MYC had some fantastic results winning the 420 and Laser 4.7 classes ,2nd in the strong Laser Radial fleet and 3rd Victorian in the Optimists, the biggest fleet of all at Sail Country 420 Class - 13 entries 1st Nicholas Sharman and James Grogan 5th Sophie Jackson and Ella Sharman 12th Courtney and Stephanie Lee 13th Olivia Richardson and Cheryl Coombs (well done Cheryl for jumping in ) Laser Radial Class - 39 entries 2nd Rhett Gowans Optimist - 50 entries 8th (3rd Vic) James Jackson 10th (4th Vic) Jasmine Evenden 17th John Faulkner 18th William McKenzie 23rd Lachlan Weber 25th Sophie McKenzie 28th Jack Eickmeyer 29th Millie Harvey 30th Amelia Evenden 40th Kate James Laser 4.7 - 14 entries 1st Lachlan Evenden Full Results can be found here Thank You Albury Wodonga YC Unfortunately due to lack of numbers the Cup lunch at MYC is cancelled.
