Mornington Yacht Club (MYC) seeks an energetic and dedicated Sailing Manager to lead and grow our sailing programs.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, people-focused role reporting to the Club Manager and working closely with our Training & Development Sub-Committee. You’ll oversee the planning and delivery of key programs, including:
- Junior Program (SLM), Adult Learn to Sail & Women on Water
- School programs and kids’ holiday courses
- Regattas, club racing, and sailing events
- You'll also manage bookings, instructor rosters, communications, and ensure safety standards are met while delivering a fantastic on-water experience for all ages.
- Oversee and support our Sail Training Coordinator, Head Coach, and Community Engagement Coordinator's.
- Promote and run sailing programs
- Growing club participation and membership
- Manage bookings, invoicing, and participant communications
- Drive marketing efforts (socials, website, newsletters)
- Host junior TrySail briefings (1st Sunday each month, Oct–Mar)
- Liaise with members, sponsors, schools & families
- Coordinate logistics for Girls Out Sailing (GOS) on Thursday evenings (Oct–Apr)
- Experience in program or event coordination, admin, or marketing
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage volunteers and casual staff
- Sailing knowledge or instructor qualifications (desirable but not essential)
- Boating License (desirable but not essential)
- Current First Aid & CPR (desirable but not essential)
- Australian Sailing qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Working with Children Check
- Some Sailing knowledge
- A supportive and inclusive club environment
- A dynamic role with variety, both desk-based and on-water
- Part-time hours with some weekend and evening commitments
