The Mornington yacht club is sad to announce the passing of Joel Ciseck. To many of the members of our club, Joel will be known as one of the most accomplished long distance sailors ever to have become a member. His global travel started very young, and indeed, it was on these travels that he met his wife to be Lizzie. Both of them were legends of the ocean with many thousands of miles under their keel.
Sadly Joel passed away last Saturday at his home in Tasmania. He moved there along with the whole of his family a few years ago and had only just completed his family home.
For anyone that ever sailed with him, and listened to his stories about sailing Kodiak, you will know that he was truly a global navigator. As he passes into his new world, we wish him steady winds and tight lines.
