MYC and Marketing committee member John Guest has been appointed New Member Liaison officer of the club. John has a passion for people and wants all new members to love the club and what it has to offer as much as he does. John has been a member on and off at MYC since the age of 16 years and has had a colourful career at Melbourne FC and is now coaching at The Old Melburnians in the premier amateur competition.
His roles will be to welcome and encourage new members to become involved not only in the social activities of the club but also to encourage them to participate and get involved in the sailing programs whether on a yacht or volunteering on a MYC rescue boat. A great starting point is on Thursday nights with Twilight sailing and Girls Out Social Sailing (GOSS) sailing days held each month.
