Well Jane Bunn got it wrong as far as Mornington was concerned last Saturday - the weather held off to enable us to crane and slip everyone's yacht who wanted to come in. The lead up to slipping this year was overshadowed by the Council's dredging programme which managed to be completed just in time for us to step in and finish the job. With so many people engaged in activities supporting slipping day the camaraderie amongst all of us helping one another undertake tasks is a joy to behold. Next Saturday our Appreciation and Presentation Evening provides an opportunity to thank all those people that make things happen around the Club.
Over winter we will be ripping into the upstairs areas. Acoustic panels will be mounted in the bar to help quieten down Andy Whitbourne, the amenities and hallway will be smartened up and the back deck will be enclosed with the Fireball Lounge created.
Brownies Friday night raffle ís going from strength to strength with the money raised supporting Club initiatives. There could be a few more surprises coming forward next season.
