Bob’s achievements as Commodore included:
-construction of the first “Retreiver”
-development of the sabot junior sailing program with the assistance of parents such as Max Rodd and Max Whitbourne.
-Building cold moulded Flying Fifteens and Top Hat class keelboats through his Mouldcraft business in Frankston.
-Lobbying for a reclaim to be developed at the pier.
Bob later moved to Queensland where he commenced a new business RL Yachts designing and building the fleet of trailer sailers bearing that name which still race actively as a fleet and hold National Championships annually.
In honour of Bob’s achievements at the Club the Foundation named one of the Pacer dinghies ‘Wasp’ the name used by Bob on his racing yachts.
