1.     Yarra’s Edge Destination Race: The welcome at Yarra’s Edge was special, unfortunately no Div. 1 boats made it up the river. The winners will receive ​$50 for 1st place in each division. Click here for results

 3.     Overnight Trophy Race: Friday 8th January 2016
Entry Form will be issued with a closing date after sailing on Sunday 3rd Jan and if the agreed number of boats entering is not reached the race will be automatically cancelled on the Monday.

4. Hobsons Bay Destination Race: Saturday 17th January 2016 Berth & Dinner Reservation Form hand prepayment for dinner of $20 a head is required this includes dip & nibbles with pre dinner drinks and BBQ dinner plus choice of meat or vegetarian  Lasagne. Yes HBYC put on a good show for us. The cut off date for this event will be Saturday 9th Jan.

5.   HBYC Mornington Cup Race to MYC: Saturday 30th January 2016
Last year 8 boats stayed over and 23 enjoyed dinner in our Clubhouse. Sheryl put up 4 excellent platters of pre dinner nibbles etc. Quite a good welcome for HBYC members but I was the only MYC member to extend the friendship by staying to dinner. I would really like to see some of you committed to staying for dinner or at least for a welcoming drink.

6.  Martha Cove Destination Race: Saturday 13th February 2016

 The day started with Jeff Young arriving safely at Mornington after sailing from Qld to pick up his new 43ft Jeanneau, "Licence to Chill" and soon followed by a fleet of Couta Boats for the start of the Mornington to StKilda passage race. MYC was represented by Peter Sydes Lincoln Rose C73 with Commodore Graeme Alexander at the helm and also Mal Hart on Jocelyn
. 
It was perfect timing when the  wind (10 to 15 knots) arrived for the start of the race but unfortunately it did not behave in terms of a consistent direction.

"Licence to Chill" Jeanneau 40.3 Sail No. M1007. The newest keelboat to join the Mornington Fleet. 
Congratulations Jeff (James Bond) and Sheila Young and well done in  the one big adventure of sailing the yacht back from sailing from Queensland. The boat looks superb and arrived in Mornington to live a happy life yesterday 5 December 2015.

31 boats raced tonight in what was a superb  course for the south easterly wind conditions of 10 knots.
All boats finished within 14 minutes of each other in a race that went for 90 minutes. The larger boats were given a better chance for line honours with the long windward beat to the finish.

Fly by night was set to win crossing on starboard ahead of First light but came to a halt when pinching just that fraction too much attempting to  cross the line whilst the  wind was shifting  for the worse. First Light flew past Fly by night to get the hooter and Tub Thumper made the most of the lead boat in irons.
