 Glenn Browne has shared a heartfelt reflection as he marks six years since his stroke. In his own words, Glenn shares the challenges, lessons and strength he has found along the way, as well as the importance of friendship and support.
Read Glenn’s reflection here.  The Australian team has finished with an incredible week representing the country at the 2026 Team Racing World Championships in Stockholm, Sweden.
As the youngest team at the Championships, they faced highly experienced international competition and showed significant improvement throughout the event. A highlight was securing a win against Japan, alongside plenty of close racing and valuable experience gained on the world stage. The team also enjoyed a special visit from the Deputy Ambassador of Australia to Sweden, who joined them for a post-race win celebration - A fantastic experience for our young sailors and plenty to build on for the future. This year we're making it easier than ever for sailors to get involved, with FREE entry for all competitors and FREE berthing all weekend for visiting boats. The regatta gets underway with our Invitational Twilight Race on Friday evening before two days of racing across Saturday and Sunday. Off the water, we've put together a strong social program featuring live music, pop-up bars, and great food and drink specials, making it a fantastic weekend for competitors, crews, families and supporters alike. The Lipton Cup is one of North Port Phillip's premier regattas, and with your support we'd love to make the 2026 event our biggest yet. As the sailing season approaches, it is worth checking that your boat insurance still reflects how your vessel is being used. A policy arranged several years ago may no longer match the boat, its value or the activities it is involved in. Changes that may need to be disclosed to an insurer include:
It is also important to understand how the policy responds while the boat is racing. Some policies include racing automatically, while others may apply restrictions, additional excesses or separate conditions. A broker can review the current policy, identify possible gaps and compare other suitable options where appropriate. This does not necessarily mean changing insurers. In some cases, the existing arrangement may remain suitable once the details have been reviewed and updated. A short conversation before the season begins can help avoid uncertainty at claim time.  The Schnapper Point Regatta is coming and we can't do it without our incredible volunteers. Whether you're an experienced sailor, a keen parent, or just want to be part of one of the best weekends on the MYC calendar, there's a role for you.
We need people across a wide range of roles including: On water safety and coaching support Beach and yard team Registration and sign-on Catering and hospitality Results and scoring Photography and social media And much more Some roles will require some work to be completed between now and the regatta to ensure it's a success, so if you have any availability ahead of the regatta, please also let me know. I can share the roles and responsibilities and answer any questions you may have. No experience necessary for many roles, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Training and briefings are provided before the event. Event dates: 13–14 February 2027. We'll be running a kick off session in a few weeks. Interested?
