Thanks to the sponsors - Town Planning for Schnapper Point, Ronstan for the ILCA U21, Quantum Sails for the Finn States, and Kris Oakley organised Barcrusher to sponsor us with the use of an impressive new boat for Bravo finish. Thank you also heaps to Sorrento and Davey’s Bay as usual for boats, buoys and people. Our race officers Geoff Eldridge
Ben Jones and Richard Starkins. Then Bolts for all the work he does for the club while up at the farm. Mel from Town Planning not only sponsored the event, but spent Sunday on Bravo finish, and still stayed to present medals.
Volunteers – Team MYC again were a hard working, happy lot. It’s great to have new volunteers every year, especially those that did not have family members sailing. Thank you to everyone in all roles, there are too many to name.
It is so good seeing the kids still had a smile afterwards. We are occasionally asked why we do it? The weekend was a great example of fostering independence, resilience and adventure in kids. They met the challenge that the weather presented, they had the inspiration of Glen Ashby, and the example of the older Finn and Laser sailors to look up to. The aim is to give them to a life-long love and participation in sailing too. Well done kids.
