The sinking of Adios was an unfortunate and sad day for MYC. From my current understanding the situation was well handled by all involved. Hasta La Vista on port tack went to dip Adios and end up go through starboard tack Adios. The boats got tangled Adios got main down, personal gear off and crew stepped on to Hasta la Vista, then Adios sunk, all persons safe and without injury.
Retriever, Sara and coast guard on site.
A May Day call was made from an MYC third party boat that was standing by , some discussion was had about whether that was appropriate and by all accounts it was the correct call.
We had Sara drop a buoy in the area, but am now aware that GPS fix was taken so will pick up that buoy this morning. Incident reports, protest forms and coast guard forms filled out.
In term of MYC Rescue boats. Thank you immensely to John Mills, Tania Lawton and Jim Watson Windsong crew on duty. Windsong Crew were down on time with a smile, 5 people. One tower, one start boat 3 on Sara. Their complete assistance to John And Tanya made for a fantastic days sailing. On behalf of the all those sailing yesterday big thanks to JIM and his crew.

Adios owned Geoffrey Hancock and his crew of two past commodores Greg Martin and Noel Heyes were on board and safely taken off the sinking yacht onto Hasta La Vista and then back to shore. Whilst it was unfortunate incident they crew were still in high spirits knowing all were safe. The boat is still at the bottom of the sea and expected to be retrieved asap.
